The easiest way for a hacker to get unauthorised access to systems or data, will often be to use a password that has been compromised. It can be challenging to pick secure passwords for all the services we use - and to protect these passwords from getting compromised.

This guidance from Centre for Cybersecurity contains a series of recommendations and suggestions on how to strengthen the security around passwords and thereby raise the security level of the organisation.

The publication covers topics such as password strength, password policies, multi factor authentication, password managers, and awareness.

This guidance is intended for both the individual user, the IT department, and management. Every organisation should evaluate the different topics and how they can be implemented to fit into their organisational context.
